Hello and welcome! I’m so very pleased to have you visit.
I’m Rebecca, a Belfast girl living in Suffolk. I am a photographer and film maker passionate about working with makers and small creative businesses to create thoughtful story telling brand images.
Before I was a photographer, I was a maker and before that, way, way before that, I worked in a photo library. So in many ways, like so many people, I’ve come full circle. I do love to take things slowly.
It’s a long time since I in lived in Northern Ireland but my annunciated vowels still tell the story of my roots and I’ve never lost my love of potatoes, hot buttered Veda bread and a darn good story.
The name ‘Poshyarns’ stems from my very first blog – a celebration of knitting (with posh wool) and story telling – yarns. I’ve been blogging on and off since 2006, filling various corners of the internet with my words and pictures.
From that first blog a small business grew and flourished. I’ve been designing and selling my textile based gifts and accessories online via my own website and a number of marketplaces for almost ten years. More recently I began to feel my creativity itching for a new direction and it seemed the right time to evolve and pivot. It’s wonderful to be able to pursue my photography passion and still remain rooted in the world and community I love and know. I now help makers and creatives tell their story online with beautiful, emotive and personal brand photography and films.
Instagram is my social media weapon of choice. What’s yours? I like to ease into each day with coffee and a little gentle scrolling of the squares. I’d love to connect with you over there.
